Backus-Page House Museum Tour courtesy of Whispers From Beyond Paranormal Investigations

Notes:
A friend told us about a ghost tour being offered near West Elgin Ontario. specifically at the Backus-Page House Museum. We snatched up 4 tickets just in time for them to sell out.

Having never been there we didn’t know what to expect. We were used to doing our own investigations but not used to sitting in on someone else’s. They actually let everyone hold / use their equipment
– though we had brought our own K2 meters and other people brought some of their own equipment such as cameras and phone apps.

To our surprise – our tour guide was Mike Mills...and it was great to meet him as I’d seen so many of his videos… specifically his footage of the Capital Theatre in Chatham. His videos were an inspiration
and big push towards us getting our group started. I think he mentioned he’s been doing this for somewhere in the range of 15 to 20 years, so here’s hoping we can learn a thing or 2 from him going forward.

Without going into a ton of detail right now… what did we find here at the Backus-Page House Museum?
K2 hits. Lots of them, constantly. At one point Keith was able to ask ‘Can you turn my screen Red’ – and his K2 screen instantly went red.
Here are some interesting highlights from the visit:
Many K2 hits through the house and barn.
Cold spots in house and barn.
Apparent call and answer reactions between verbal requests and K2 meters.
Other guests with cameras and phone apps were getting many orbs and shadows.
The manner in which Mike administers his Voice Box experiments was both interesting and fun.
Noise coming from opposite corners of barn we were in… which moved when we did.
Various creaks, rain noises, door noises in barn.
K2 meter hits near ‘shroud’ or blanket that was on Col. Talbot’s body at death.
K2 meter hits when Col Talbot was mentioned.
K2 meter hits when close to artifacts in house and barn. Ie: Baby cradle.

All in all – it was a lot of activity. We’ve visited other sites where you would wait hours to get one K2 hit – here it was easy.

The whole event was run… brilliantly. We all had a great night and we want to go back – either in the day time to visit the museum as ‘normal’ or to return again for a Ghost tour.

Side note – before we left the area – we visited the super cool cemetery across the road… but found / seen nothing… not a single hit on any of the K2 meters.

Casefile 'Big French Town'

Notes:
Tonight we resume out activities as a group after a long time off due to Covid. Client reporting mumbling, shadows, cold air, faces looking back at them. There is a Native grave yard nearby.

We were able to bring our friend Holly from Beyond Belief Psychic Medium with us to the investigation.

To be brief - we didn't find much here, but appreciated the resident of the house reaching out to us to come and have a look.

Conclusion:
We have closed this case having found nothing out of the ordinary during our investiagtion.

2020-06-27

Return to a Private Residence Chatham - this time, we brought some gifted individuals.

Notes:
Residents continued to be bothered by unexplained activity.
We returned, technically for the 4th visit, but the 3rd if counting investigations.
This time we brought famed psychic Holly McGeorge and her husband Mike, who is also intune to matters of the unexplained.

Once again we captured EVP that we cannot explain.
Holly feels there is nothing dangerous in the house, and hopefully put the residents at ease with some of her insights. It’s thought that one of the residents maybe a conduit that could be attracting spirits. This investigation marks the first time we’ve had such a good, consistant call and answer response on the EMF mteres. Holly was able to ask questions, and get consistant feedback on the EMF meter. This has never happened like this before to our team.

Some interesting phenomenon noted:
- Knocking or industrial banging noises.
- The knocking of banging can be heard as though from upstairs, up not recorded upstairsor vice versa. As if the noises sound like they come from afar, but yet, don’t occur in the spots they are thought to come from.
- There seems to be a ‘dog’ present.
- There seems to be a ‘helpful’ presence.
- It’s thought that spirits of close friends and family maybe present.
- Our camera lost battery immediately, so we did not get video.
- Mike’s iPad got some interesting footage, though it also had distortion and artifacting. For what reason would an iPad video distort? It doesn’t make any sense.
- Caught a vertical floating orb in the same 'corner' we always catch them at this location.

Conclusion:

'Apartment'. Keith has the spirt box set to cycle backwards. 'Apartment' makes even less sense when played proper frontwards.

A dog whimper can be heard after the camera noise.

10 seconds in - spirit box says 'Carol'. Carol is a deceased friend, thought to be in the house.

A very feint 'don't hurt me' can be heard. Holly thought at one point the spirits went into hiding, which... does seem to reflect the timeline of having most of our EVP Captured at the beginning and then almost nothing happening for the remaining hour or so.

A female sigh can be heard behind Holly's voice. (Feint, around 7 seconds)

'He knows them' and random tapping. An explanation could be... Keith has been here at least 3 times before... Holly and Mike are new.... 'he knows them'.

Investigation in Forest Ontario

Notes:
Son of the owner had voices telling him to 'hurt' family members and himself. After investigation - we come to realize there is a spirit of a boy that just wants to play with the living boy and his dog. Also seeking attention from the mother (current resident).
No EMF hits during this session. Orb captured on thermal imaging. EVP captured.
Smudging used to calm the spirit activity.

Return to a Private Residence Chatham, ON

Notes:
Residents are still reporting unexplained activity. Nothing harmful or worrisome, but unexplained things continue to happen.

We captured enough EVP and Orbs on video last time to warrant returning, so we setup this evening for 2 hours to see if anything else could be captured.
Any potential spirit activity is believed to be a friend or a relation to the owners.

Country Cemetery Revisited

We revisited the country cemetery with additional gear and personnel. The EVP meters were silent almost all night short of one big hit. We did bring a video camera - but it started malfunctioning immediately, and yielded no footage.

Notes:

We were called out to Ridgetown, ON as the owner's have had some strange things happening for years.

Cupboards opening, noises, residents waking up @ 3 and 4am, sometimes being touched in the night.

Private Residence Chatham

Notes:

We were called to investigate as Shampoo bottles were being moved 4 feet across bathroom. We did a 1 hour investigation and did pickup some interesting audio despite it being very windy outside - which you can hear in the audio recorded.

We want to return. The bathroom warrants more investigations. Being a bathroom we cannot run a constant camera.

Notes:

We were given the opportunity to conduct an investigation at a business in Chatham that is in a house that is over 100 years old. Those who work there have reported it has a strange feeling after dark, items have gone missing or have been moved, and a picture was taken where the outline of a figure can be seen in the window.

NOTABLE EVENTS
+There appear to be a few orbs in photos
+We seen orbs on the camera screen, but were unable to get photos of those ones
+Outline of a figure seen, no evidence captured unfortunately
+We did get some EVP's, but they are very rough. We are going to list almost all of them, and remove them as we debunk them.

Conclusion:

We want to return with more equipment. We are in process of trying to debunk EVP's... they are very contaminated with background noise.

Country Cemetery

Notes:

This Cemetery is a small country cemetery in Lambton County, Ontario. Some of us have family buried there. We went around 6:30pm, though it was quite dark - as it's November. We didn't expect to find anything, and only went to test equipment. We've never heard any claims made here, we simply went because we could.

We ended up capturing 30+ EVP's. Some are really feint and not worth posting. It was freezing cold and windy, so the audio is highly contaminated - but the wind doesn't account for the voices we picked up, quite unexpectedly. We also got EMF hits... from grave markers.

Also strange, after this investigation - we did another not a 10 minute walk down the road - it wasn't as cold or as windy, and we captured absolutely nothing. The cemetery is lower and more shielded than the other location.

Anyway - I'll detail some of the better EVP we picked up.

Notable Events
- Over 30 different EVP's recorded (see below)
- EMF in middle of cemetary, some near grave markers
- A white rolling figure seen between grave markers, low to the ground, but we were not able to capture any evidence
- Area was very windy, and freezing cold - much more so than the next investigation which you could walk to in 10 minutes.

Conclusion:

Update: We have returned, and captured similar voices.

Darcy McKeough Floodway, Investigation

Notes:

This place can have a creepy vibe to it at times, has been man-modified in a big way due to the fact that it's a floodway, and there has been confirmation of Indian Arrow heads found in the woods. There's also some lore about a couple of old reclusive men that lived in the woods, probably 50 years ago.
We will follow up on this some day.

We came here after Investigation#5, where we found alot of activity. Here - we found less wind, warmer temperatures, and absolutely nothing paranormal.

- Nothing but howling Coyote's

Conclusion:

We found absolutely nothing out of the ordinary, despite picking up EVP's the same night, a 10 minute walk away. We do want to return here someday anyway, and research some of the lore surrounding the old reclusive men who lived in the woods - which is a bit of a local ghost story.

Private Residence

Notes:

Investigation#2 on this particular case - is not a full investigation, rather - we visited outside of a house in Chatham to get baseline readings around the property - from the sidewalk. More to follow once we investigate the inside of the house. The activity witnessed tends to happen at 3 or 4 in the morning, so as always, we need to accommodate the client.

Notable Events
- EMF detectable in front yard is very, very high directly on the front walk. EMF was fluctuating in a wave - and was reading the highest levels we have metered to date. Could be underground powerlines - need to investigate further.

Conclusion:

We look forward to setting a future date to investigate the interior, when the client is ready.

A Cemetery

We visited a cemetery - where we have seen video of unexplained light / back scatter.

- Team member was asking questions - thought they heard a female voice respond with "Take my picture with your camera"

An alley known to have paranormal activity

Notes:

We investigated a public alley way - that is documented to have had paranormal activity. It's public and easy to find - read Ghosts of Chatham-Kent volume II by Shelia Gibbs. (Which is a great read).

Notable Events
- None short of emf present under the power lines, high in locations.

Conclusion:

We visited twice in one night, and found almost nothing. We are still reviewing photos and videos.

Old Country Home Under Renovations

Our first opportunity to investigate a site as a team. The client gave us no testimony short of saying something along the lines of ‘Don’t tell me if you find anything’.
Though the investigation revealed very little, it was a good chance to use some new equipment. We we’re given the opportunity to explore and old, currently abandoned farm house – that is being renovated.

Notable Events – The breaker panel blew almost as soon as we stepped in the door and the clients were not able to restore power. When we left, the owners were still trying to restore power. It is an old house.
Upon entering the upstairs – we did get some EMF hits straight away, and this is after the breaker panel was not functioning. The analog and digital EMF meters did not seem to sync up
or show the same thing at the same time.

When asked ‘How many spirits are here’, the spirit box immediately answered a confident ‘Three’.
Spirit boxes make alot of noise at random, and can stop at a radio station anytime, playing whatever is on that radio station at the moment.
Captured some backscatter in photos.
We also captured some misty photos.

Conclusion:
We appreciated the opportunity to tour this old gem while under renovations.
It was a great opportunity to get our feet wet as a team, and there were a few odd occurrences, we didn’t find any evidence of paranormal activity.
